The hyaluron pen is a needleless filler delivery system that uses pressurized air to distribute hyaluronic acid gel to superficial layers of the skin with near-unparalleled control and accuracy. The process is comparable to traditional fillers and lip injections but much more comfortable than a needle injection, with very little risk or downtime due to minimal or no bruising.

Hyaluronic acid gel volumizes, fills, shapes, and lifts your skin. At Nightly Opulence Beauty, we use an FDA-approved, needle-free technology called the hyaluron pen to deliver the gel. A piston and spring in the pen create a high-pressure jet to uniformly and quickly deliver hyaluronic acid gel to the skin. The diameter of this microscopic flow is 0.17 mm, twice as small as the smallest insulin needle. In fact, this handheld device was originally designed to administer vaccines and dispense pain-free, transdermal insulin to people with diabetes and needle phobias.

Benefits of hyaluronic acid fillers include:

  • Skin appears more plump and supple

  • Hydrates skin

  • Creates volume

  • Fewer wrinkles and fine lines

  • Help stimulate collagen growth

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural sugar found in the skin that can hold a thousand times its weight in water, keeping the skin hydrated and plump. As we age, the amount of HA—along with collagen and elastin—decreases, resulting in wrinkles, fine lines, shadows, and other signs of aging.

Results last from six weeks to twelve weeks or longer, depending on several factors. Clients’ hydration levels, lifestyle, treatment area, presence of base filler in the treatment area(s), and metabolism can all affect longevity.

Nightly Opulence Beauty exclusively uses a pure, vegan, cross-linked hyaluronic acid gel of the highest quality, created through the fermentation of the microorganism, Streptococcus equi. Hyaluronic Acid Gel is comparable to Juvederm.

Where Can Hyaluronic Acid Filler Be Injected Safely?

One of the reasons we love this technology so much at Nightly Opulence Beauty is its versatility. The hyaluron pen can be used in many traditional filler injection sites, including

  • Lips

  • Body of the lips

  • Cupid’s bow (double curve of upper lip)

  • Philtrum ridges (vertical ridges above the upper lip)

  • Vermillion border (angled edge of lips)

  • Lip tubercles (natural ridges where lips meet)

  • Upper & lower lip vermillion (colored part of lips)

  • Above the brow (for a little lift)

  • Nasolabial folds*

  • Around mouth for marionette lines and smokers lines*

  • The angle of the mandible (lower jaw angle below the ear)*

  • Lateral zygomatic arch (far cheekbone)*

  • Nose*

* Case-dependent treatment areas

Because Nightly Opulence Beauty wants to deliver exceptional, customized results that accentuate your natural beauty, we cannot guarantee treatment for starred areas prior to an in-person consultation. Kida personally evaluates each client to ensure the safety and effectiveness of hyaluronic acid gel treatment.

Hyaluronic Acid Gel Preparation

Preparation Details

In order to be best prepared for success with Hyaluronic Acid Gel and Hyaluron Pen, follow the below steps before your appointment.

  • For 1 week prior avoid blood thinners &  dehydrating substances like caffeine, alcohol, St. John’s Wart, Ginko Biloba, primrose oil, fish oil, vitamin E, aspirin, ibuprofen or similar products (Advil, Motrin, Aleve). They can cause bruising, bumps, more aggressive pinpoint marks, and lack of volume.

  • For 1 week prior & 1 week after, avoid tretinoin, retinal, retinoids, glycolic acid, peels, and skin-sensitizing products.

  • 72 hours prior & 72 hours after, avoid highly processed foods as they greatly dehydrate the body.  Instead, eat spinach, kale, and celery the week before to boost your levels of Vitamin K.

  • Drink 1/2 gallon or more water daily for 48 hours before and after treatment.  Hyaluronic Acid bonds to other Hyaluronic Acid and water.

  • 24 hours prior and as needed after taking Arnica Montana tablets and an anti-inflammatory to help with swelling and bruising.

  • 24 hours prior and after avoid flying or saunas as they dehydrate the body.

  • 24 hours prior and after avoid rigorous workouts. New fresh fillers need time to set so lots of water and lack of rigorous movement for 24 hours after is key.

Hyaluronic Acid Gel FAQ

What is hyaluron pen lip filler?

The Hyaluron pen is a needle-free injection that can be used to create volume, shape, and lift. The FDA-Approved Hyaluron Pen is a needle-free device that has a special piston with a spring that creates a high-pressure jet to uniformly and quickly flow fillers* through the skin. The diameter of this microscopic flow is 0.17 mm, twice as small as the smallest insulin needle. The process is much more comfortable than a needle injection and with very little downtime since there is minimal to no bruising.  The pen is similar to other needleless and jet injection systems that are sometimes used to deliver vaccines and other medications.

What filler does NOB use?

I use Hyafilia created by Korean Cha Meditech. It is a vegan, pure cross-linked hyaluronic acid filler of the highest quality. It is created through the fermentation of the microorganism, Streptococcus equi.

How long does hyaluron pen last?

Longevity varies and depends on the client. Results last from 6 weeks to 12 weeks or longer, depending on several factors. Some clients' bodies metabolize the product faster than others. High metabolism, active lifestyle, and weight loss all result in faster process time. Dehydration during the two weeks after treatment also shortens the product's lifespan. Engaging in hot yoga, using a sauna, or eating salty food can significantly affect the product's longevity.

Longevity is cumulative.  With each treatment, while there is still filler in the area, results will last longer and longer. Those with base filler in treatment areas will see longer-lasting results. Without base filler in your treatment area, you can always expect the product to have a shorter life span.  You will need to build up the filler and moisture in the skin to help the filler last longer.  After your first time getting filler in a particular area, it is ideal to schedule a touch-up visit two weeks later.

Use two tricks before you come in for your appointments.  Drink a lot of water before your appointment and for the two weeks following the appointment.  If you are drinking coffee or alcohol, drink twice as much water. Avoid processed food and eat vitamin K-rich foods to help your filler last.

Does filler using hyaluron pen hurt?

Most clients report minimal discomfort, especially when compared to traditional needle injections.  You will hear a snapping and clicking sound and feel pressure at the moment of the jet injection.

What are the possible side effects of filler?

Side effects are mild or moderate and usually last less than 7 days.  The persistence of these symptoms for up to two weeks is usually nothing to worry about. The most common side effects are temporary injection site reactions, such as redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration.

Other rare risks include, but are not limited to:

  • Overcorrection / undercorrection & facial asymmetry

  • Unpredictable persistence of filler, either shorter or longer than expected

  • Prolonged discoloration of the skin

  • Prolonged or severe swelling

  • Reactivation of cold sores

  • Infection

  • Scarring

  • Allergic or anaphylactic reaction

Where can filler be safely injected?

Hyaluron Pen fillers can be used all over the face with the exception of directly under the eye and in the temple area.

What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a natural acid found in our joints, eyeballs, and skin. It is composed of two sugars—glucuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine. Its primary function is to attract water and keep the skin hydrated, plump, and youthful. Since the human body creates HA naturally, it is impossible to be allergic to it. As we age, our body decreases the amount of HA and collagen produced, which causes the skin to look older. As a result, wrinkles form and the skin begins to sag. By adding HA into the skin we revive the collagen and promote a fresher, plumper look. Hyaluronic Acid is also the main structural element of connective tissue.

Can I get this treatment if I already have filler?

Yes. It is best to wait 2 weeks if you recently had it done to let the prior product set and let any swelling go down.

Why is 1ML the maximum amount of filler in a single treatment area?

You can come in and do 5 or more MLS in a single session but we will only do 1 mL in a single area. More than 1 mL in any treatment area in a single session can result in drastic swelling. If you want more volume, then a follow-up session 2 weeks later is appropriate.  Fullness in any treatment area is built up over time.  What is more, results are cumulative.  With each treatment (as long as there is still filler in your treatment area), your results will last longer and longer.

Is there anyone who cannot be treated with the hyaluron pen?

Hyaluron Infusion should not be used on patients with the following contraindications.

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Under 18 years of age

  • Hypersensitive

  • Severe allergies marked by a history of anaphylaxis

  • Active oral herpes

  • History of a compromised immune system

  • Undergoing immunosuppressive therapy

  • History of Keloid Scarring

  • Active Acne

  • Myasthenia Gravis, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or any other neuromuscular disorders

  • Autoimmune Disease

What’s the difference between fillers done with a hyaluron pen and a needle?

The hyaluron pen is completely noninvasive and injects filler into a shallower layer of dermis than needles.  The hyaluron pen significantly minimizes or eliminates risks of occlusion, infection, and pain.

What happens to our own hyaluronic acid?

Over the course of the years, the body produces less Hyaluronic Acid and the skin becomes more dry. Dryness, along with changes in bone structure and facial tissue, results in deepening wrinkles. The hyaluronic acid molecule is a pretty tough fighter and can maintain structure, but its ability to be able to retain water decreases over time.
